It's been a trying few days.

Today I started my first full week of classes for the semester.  But let's start earlier...

Since coming to UCA this semester, my meal plan has yet to be activated on my ID card.  So I've been eating via Jenny's DCB balance, the kindness of lenient cafeteria ladies, snacks in my room, and fast food (gift-carded and otherwise).  So, as one might imagine, I'm hungry and broke and more than a little stressed.

Also, last night (or should I say this morning?) around 12:30 the fire alarms went off in my building.  No big deal, I thought.  I was just about to fall asleep, but I was still reading in bed.  So I went downstairs and waited for the all-clear signal.  Then I came back to my room, got in bed, and my mind was racing with junk that just floats around:  trips I'd like to take to Mexico, letters I should have written already, and the like.  And then, around 1, the alarms go again.  I headed downstairs with my hoodie and flip flops keeping me comfy.  Subsequently, I was out standing and sitting on the parking lot across from my building for almost two hours.  In fact, it was 2:40 before I got back to my room, cranky and exhausted.  So, knowing that the junk mail of my mind was likely to resurface, I put of a podcast and jumped into bed.  Podcasts help me to focus enough to not have a mind racing, but I am also able to zone out of them and drift off.  Well, the outro music of the podcast woke me at 3:30, and I shut it off.

At 6:45 my alarm got me out of bed and into the shower for what would be an action (and weirdness) packed day.
-Chinese at 8
-received an awkward voice message from a man offering his condolences for the death of someone... I think it would have been the intended recipient's child.  Creepy and awkward to be a wrong number.
-Honors at 9
-Tried to get  money for a parking permit (so I don't get a ticket)out of the ATM, but didn't have money or the PIN for that right card.  Now I have money, but still no PIN.  Lol... kind of.
-Talked to housing about my meal plan.  In their computer it hasn't posted yet.  Even though I did it last week.  The ID card office did give me a new ID for free because mine was a little beaten up.  $10 saved.
-Went to the Police Office with Jenny to get her permit.
-Took a 20 minute respite (never became a full-fledged nap)
-Chemistry lab at 12
-Followed a friend to free lasagna in another friend's room
-Updating my blog
-Cinema History from 4 until 7

!!!

In other news, I went to Oasis Church in Maumelle on Sunday, and it was ok.  Frankly, the jury is still out.  It seemed like a good idea, but the sermon was kind of an awkward first one to hear.  I'll give it at least another try.  I also went to New Life Church on Sunday night for their college ministry.  It was pretty much the same as it's always been, which is, excellent production quality, a bit weak in the Word.

I have a headache.
