The rest of yesterday was spent (aside from maybe a trip to Shake's and a walk) reading my eyeballs dry about what modern is. It was interesting at times, but at other times it was dreadful boring. I got my paper turned in around 1 this morning and went to bed. I also had a prelab due for chemistry. So I emailed it in last night, but I wasn't able to really do half of it because I still don't have my lab manual, which I ordered a month or so ago. Come on! My professor emailed me and chidingly said that I "know I should plan ahead" and that we could have worked something out if I'd thought about it sooner.
It seemed condescendingly half-heartedly helpful. Maybe? I don't know. I don't expect anyone to do anything for me above or beyond the bare minimum (apparently this is a characteristic of growing up in Modernity...) and I don't make excuses for stuff. I might give an explanation, which is what I did in telling him that I didn't have a book and therefore didn't finish the work, but I certainly would never expect him to help, and I wouldn't try to tell him how busy I have been and that I was working on his classwork after 1 in the morning. Have I become too self-reliant?
I am about to head out for an early lunch before lab, a trip by the ATM, lab, return to the room, skim Film History text, and then to class. It's sad when you're looking forward to the 7 p.m. return to the room at 10:30 in the morning.
Oh, and I had a Chinese test this morning, but I didn't realize I was having a test. I did fine, I'm pretty sure. I've been studying that, anyway. I actually like Chinese. The other classes this semester make me question my major and minor. (Actually mainly my major, because I like Honors, Adam just wants us to read a LOT.) I like film, and all. It's just that this semester I'm taking Classical Theory and Film History 1, so it's not the most enticing, especially since they are at 8 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. respectively.
30 minutes of relax and shoe-change time before heading out!
