Fall Broke

I am on FALL BREAK!  That's something that China sort of knew about.  They call it National Day (or Golden Week) and they give everybody a week off.  Of course, no one can really travel because of the logistics of letting 1.3 billion people off work at the same time, but the concept is nice.  And Tian'anmen Square is the heart of the thing.

Anyway, today I'm tying up some loose ends and then driving to Texarkana to go to church and spend the night at my parents' house.  Joey Slaton is preaching tonight, so that's a cool "small world" connection.  The college minister from my Conway church is preaching at my T-town church the night I'm there.

Tomorrow I'll be driving to Lufkin, TX, population:  4 Vandergriffs.  (In typing it just now, I've finally realized just how weird that name is.  Haha.)  Anyway, Dave, Janie, & Co. moved away while I was in the Zhong, so I'm spending my Fall Break with them.  And I'm excited.  We're overdue, since I intended to spend some of my summer there.  I ended up in Illinois for that time.  Anyway, I'm planning on chilling, conversing, and generally hanging out until Sunday after church and then high-tailing it back to Conway in order to start school again on Monday.

Long weekend:  Check!
Car:  Check.
Homework to carry along:  Check.

I'm out!

so...I find it rather amusing that you'll be driving from Arkansas to Texas tomorrow, when I'll be driving from Texas to Arkansas at the same time....just saying...
