Today I'm having dinner with my parents as they pass through on their way from a trip to see my dad's parents in Missouri.  I haven't seen them in several years.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to dinner.

Also, today is Homecoming here at UCA.  I might have gone to the football game if the 'rents weren't on the way into town.  Who knows?  Football isn't really my cup of tea, but I do like a live game now and again.  I've grown a taste for it over the past few years.  It's kind of funny.  I would probably never chose to watch it on tv, but I love the atmosphere in a stadium.  And the game is not disinteresting.  Haha.

This week I only have class Monday through Wednesday.  Thursday and Friday are Fall Break, so I'm heading down to T-town for Wednesday night and then to Lufkin to hang out with the Vandergriffs until Sunday midday.  I'm excited.  Before I go, though, I have two mid-terms on Monday and a test on Tuesday, plus a small project on Wednesday.  Don't we love how profs cram everything in before a holiday?  Fortunately, I don't have to write a paper for this Monday like I do most weeks.  However, I do have to read Dostoyevsky's Notes from Underground in its entirety and write about it before the following Monday.

Underground is supposed to be an amazingly good book, though, and so I look forward to it.  And it's not really that long.  It's just easy to be daunted by Dostoyevsky.  He is considered one of the greatest writers ever, and has been widely read in universities since... you know... a long time ago.  I'll let you borrow it.

I'd also like to finally read the book I bought a few weeks ago called China Boy by Gus Lee.  It fits in with my pending research into third-culturalism.  And it's supposed to be a really funny, really sad book.  Also, it is widely read in universities in courses related to... blah blah.  I'll let you know if it's good.  And you can borrow it.

I'm off to read some more and take advantage of it being beautiful outside.  This is positively the best time of the year.  Oh, also, it's my turn-around birthday.  Today is 10/11, I was born 11/10.
